Incident

Deputy Marshal Metcalf was fatally shot while leading a prohibition raiding party. He was ambushed in an act of revenge by a suspect he had shot during a raid one year yearlier. Two of the Deputy Marshal's sons and a brother assisted him during the raid. H.R. Metcalf, 22, a son was severly injuried, suffering gunshot wounds to the head and face.
