Columbus Indiana Officer Stabbed During Scuffle

Columbus police have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing of an officer.

SWAT team members brought the suspect out of a home Tuesday night about two hours after the stabbing. The man had a gunshot wound to one of his arms.

The unidentified officer's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The injured officer and a second officer responded to a property dispute. They checked to see if anyone in the dispute had outstanding warrants, and a man in the dispute pulled out a knife. Police fired a gunshot, and the man stabbed one of the officers and fled the scene.

Columbus is about 40 miles south of Indianapolis.
