This was my Grandfather that I never got to meet. He was shot and killed when my mother was only 2 years old. His life was taken way to early. I've heard stories of how he was a tall and gentle man. Firm, fair and consistent. He put his life on the line daily for a small wage. Actually, it took more than 50 years after his death to be recognized as an officer that died in the line of duty. My cousin Kay Byron made that happen. My mother was so incredibly proud of her father, even though she never really met him. She always taught me to respect police officers. She hated police officers being called "pigs". I have his name in my name and wished I could have met this man. George
