Incident
While working an ATV "Poker Run" fundraising event for local charities, Marshal Beam's ATV (all-terrain vehicle) collided with one being driven by a deputy sheriff.
Marshal Beam, along with his wife who was riding with him, was ejected. Marshal and Mrs. Beam suffered critical injuries and were airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
Marshal Beam died from his injuries 2 days later. His wife was expected to recover.
Marshal Beam had previously served with the Homecroft, Indiana Police Dept.
