His wife, Amy, and their two young children, Jennifer and Jake.
Dr. Bosche died from an illness contracted during his response to the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001.
A member of the task force for many years, Dr. Bosche left the comfort and safety of the Emergency Department multiple times to go into harm's way in response to natural and man-made disasters -- including Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina as well as to Ground Zero.
Before medical school, Dr. Bosche served as a firefighter. As an emergency physician and member of the task force, he was able to take his passion for helping others to the highest level. He served as medical director for multiple EMS agencies and is widely known for his work in emergency services and disaster response. During his three year battle with cancer, messages of support were sent by emergency services personnel from around the world.
CORRECTION: After the initial posting, we learned that Dr. Bosche did not deploy to Ground Zero with Missouri Task Force 1. Instead, he deployed as a member of Ohio Disaster Medical Assistance Team. He was indeed a valued and long-serving member of Missouri Task Force 1. But he had been a member of Ohio DMAT before returning home to Missouri and joining Missouri Task Force 1.
