I loved being in EMT class with you. Over the years our pathways would meet for just a little while. The time I did spend riding on the buggy with you was always days of laughter, no matter the pain. We miss you. God Bless.
Don't Tell Me
Please don't tell me you know how I feel,
Unless you have lost your child too,
Please don't tell me my broken heart will heal,
Because that is just not true,
Please don't tell me my Daughter is in a better place,
Though it is true, I want her here with me,
Don't tell me someday I'll hear her voice, see her face,
Beyond today I cannot see,
Don’t tell me it is time to move on,
Because I cannot,
Don't tell me to face the fact she is gone,
Because denial is something I can't stop,
Don't tell me to be thankful for the time I had,
Because I wanted more,
I'll never be as I was before,
That you will listen when I talk of my child,
You can share with me my precious memories,
You can even cry with me for a while,
And please don't hesitate to say her name,
Because it is something I long to hear everyday,
Friend, please realize that I can never be the same,
I’ve Seen Her
I’ve seen my baby girl; I’ve seen her pass,
She walks with such a grace.
She turned and smiled across at me,
The sun upon her face.
And I could swear I caught the scent,
The fragrance of her hair.
Could I believe – should I believe,
Her spirit blessed me there?
Her eyes so bright, they shone with love,
No pain to cloud them now,
And when she laughed, no line was seen,
Across that perfect brow.
Oh baby girl, if you would only wait,
Beyond the tears and pain,
We’ll walk together, hand in hand,
Chris, I miss you more and more everyday. I thought that each passing day it would get a little better, but my heart still hurts. I want to see your face, and hear your voice, I miss you so much. It seems that everything has just fell apart with out you here. Chris if we could go back in time, I think about that every day. I know you loved your work, and you put everyone before yourself. That is what I love about you. You would give the shirt off your back. You are so missed by me. I love you so much, and I hope that you can hear me when I talk to you every day.
I want to say thank you to everyone that was there in our time of pain. It was a great comfort to see just how much Christa Burchett was loved by everyone. Christa Dawn Burchett I am crying right now typing this, I just want to tell you I love you with all my heart, and you are always on my mind.
Chris was the best. She was there for me when no one else was. I loved working at Paintsville FD, Respond, and Dhp with her. 7 years togethor, and now she is gone. I will miss you Chris.
It saddens all of us to hear of the loss of a sister firefighter/EMS worker. The prayers of the members of Turkey Creek VFD will be with Chief Burchett's family as well as her family of EMS workers and Firefighters. The field of EMS has no doubt taken a tragic loss by losing this Chief officer and Paramedic.
God saw she was getting tired, and time was not to be,
so He put His arms around her and whispered, "Come with me".
Although we loved her dearly, we cannot make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Sister, rest in peace.
Thoughts and prayers to both families. Sandy EMT-B
I pray that God will provide comfort to this family in their time of loss. Not only the immediate family, but the fire/ems family of the city of Paitnsville and Johnson COunty as well.
